Christmas Gift Guide Day3: Howard B.Wigglebottom and the Power of Giving: A Christmas Story Review and Giveaway
Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Power of Giving: A Christmas Story
Christmas time is for giving, but not for Howard, it's a time for getting! Howard B Wigglebottom is a bunny who has everything, and wants more. His mom tells him they are visiting his cousins tomorrow to pack warm clothes, and of course Howard B Wigglebottom didn't listen. He packed all his toys, and when it was time to board the train, his big sack of toys got caught on the door and fell out. Howard jumps off the train to save his toys, as soon as he does, the train doors shut and off the train goes, leaving poor Howard alone. Scared and alone, and unsure where hes going, he starts walking. He hears noises behind him and realizes hes not alone. Scared, he starts running to find a place to hide, and comes across a family eating dinner together. Cold, Hungry and alone, poor Howard wishes he could be warm and with his family, so he cried himself to sleep. When he awoke, he heard tiny voices asking him if he was the Santa bunny, that they have a letter for him. He jumps up and screams leave me alone! As he was about to run, he falls and all his toys scatter, and he watches all his toys get grabbed, he tries to scream, but couldn't with a mouth full of snow. After realizing they wasn't after his toys, in fact they was helping him he felt ashamed. The birds hand him a letter that says: Dear Santa Bunny, I will be so grateful if I can belong to a loving family. Thank you. Howard felt ashamed again, he had a very loving family so he decided to take the birds home with him. After finding his home, he fed the birds, and tucked them into bed. He stayed up a little later to look at all his toys, and realized he had to much stuff. So Howard B Wigglebottom picked out a special toy for each of his new friends. He wished he could have his family back, right then the door swung open and it was his family! They all celebrated Christmas dinner, and Howard's mom said she will find each of his new friends a home.
My girls loved this book, as I read it to them, they actually sat down and listened. My girls and I loved the illustrations, and the story has a lot to offer them, by teaching them giving is better than receiving. This would make a great addition to any child's library!
These would make great Christmas gifts for your children, or a loved one. Even great for home schooling, or a classroom!
